Editing / Proofreading
German texts are corrected using the Duden norms and the new spelling rules. If
the client prefers, other methods can be used, for example the old spelling
rules (prior to 2006), Swiss spelling and agency spelling.

Editing
The aim of editing is to achieve a high standard of linguistic quality for your text. Based on
sample pages, the steps that you would like included will be discussed. This will bear in mind
that the text is a personal expression by an individual. The motto is to change only as much as
necessary, but as little as possible.
Editing includes proofreading, but also the following main aspects:- logical order of the individual points in the overall structure
- numbering of the headings
- use of appropriate stylistic devices
- optimum readability and comprehensibility
- checking of the use of references and quotations in the text
- homogenisation of the terminology and spelling
- in academic texts:
- layout of footnotes
- standardised quotation style
- appropriate linguistic register
